And how are we making it work?

“Arizona’s tech community is a connected community,” says Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The camaraderie between entrepreneurs, whether you’ve been here for decades or just arrived this year, is as generous and welcoming as any in the world — a valuable asset for fostering innovation and collaboration.”

DAS Technology Co-founder and CEO Alexi Venneri was featured in this cover story.

“DAS Technology started in Scottsdale in 2010 as Digital Air Strike, and, while we have had multiple opportunities to leave the area, we’ve chosen to stay and grow in the Valley of the Sun,” Venneri said.

“Our biggest opportunity to move was in 2011, after we merged with the Silicon Valley technology company Response Logix. While we were the smaller company, we grew faster and kept our name. We convinced our California-based VCs that Greater Phoenix has more potential to grow our technology company over Silicon Valley, and we were right!”
